Scottish Smallpipe in CNigel Richard, Edinburgh |
Scottish SmallpipeSmallpipes sound roughly one octave below the Great Highland Bagpipe depending on which key they are in. They are very suitable for indoor playing and great for accompanying a singer. This Smallpipe (left) in C is - like my Border Pipe - made by Nigel Richard. Made to my specifications, it has 5 keys, thus considerably enlarging its musical scale, and presenting more options within the octave. I am also playing Scottish Smallpipes in A and D, also made by Nigel. |
